WHY TREE WASH?
Growers since ancient times have noticed that garlic plants (Allium sativum) are not attractive to certain insects, animals and fungi and they used garlic sprays to stimulate the natural ability of plants to resist pests and diseases. Today, garlic sprays are routinely used as a growth supplement in various crops such as lettuce, tomatoes, strawberries, ornamentals, wheat, brassicas and turf for healthier, insect- and fungi-free plants.
Tree Wash is a natural product derived from garlic extract, seaweed and citrus. It is water-based, standardised, concentrated and biodegradable. It contains high levels of allicin, which has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, as well as over 30 other sulphur-based nutrients and selenium that will stimulate plant growth. It has a systemic and prophylactic action.
BENEFITS OF TREE WASH
HEALTH AND HYGIENE
When Tree Wash is used in a programme of treatments from early on in the season, it helps to promote clean healthy trees that bear beautiful fruits, free from most fungal diseases and insect/pest attack.
STIMULATES GROWTH
Applied in a programme of treatments Tree Wash helps to resist the adverse effects of stress due to drought. It will give cleaner trees with greater resistance to sap sucking pests. It will produce better cleaner fruits that will have a longer storage time.
FUNGAL AND INSECT SUPPRESSION
Regular use of Tree Wash will assist trees and bushes to resist or recover from most of the common fungal diseases and aid plants' natural resistance to insects. Research worldwide has shown garlic's fungistatic and fungicidal activity against Phytophthora spp., Phythium spp., Rhizoctonia solani, Fusarium oxysporum, Botrytis cinerea, Alternaria brassisicola and numerous other pathogenic fungi.
HOW TO USE TREE WASH
USE REGULARLY
For optimal results Tree Wash should be used twice during the winter season, followed by spraying in a programme of treatments throughout the growing season depending on variety and use.
SPRAY
Diluted 1:50 in water depending on season and foliage, Tree Wash should be sprayed as a fine spray to run off. It is rain fast in one hour in summer and two hours in winter. During use the characteristic smell of garlic will become evident; however, treated areas and plants will become odourless.
An adjuvant can be used to improve rain fastness if required.
